Why a set of school supplies matters so much
Lacking school supplies is not just lacking an object. It is self-consciousness, missed lessons and, sometimes, the reason a child leaves school.

For a family with a stable income, it is a trivial expense. For a family farming by the season, with three children in school, it is a real problem — especially when the school year starts in the months before the harvest.
The cost of "sharing"
Many students share books with classmates, copy lessons by hand or study from outdated editions. They manage, but more slowly, more tiredly, and they fall behind more easily. More importantly, many feel ashamed — and shame is one of the quietest reasons children stop coming to school.
After a disaster
After every flood, the damage is not only to houses. Books are soaked, desks washed away, study corners gone. Many children miss weeks of school because they have nothing to bring to class. A timely support kit in those days can keep them in school.
How we want to do it
- Ask the school first; never guess at needs.
- Provide the right textbook set for the grade and current curriculum.
- Prioritise quality and durability over quantity.
- Give respectfully, without turning children into "content" for adults.
Dream Essentials is our "smallest" program — and the one we believe can start soonest. Because sometimes, keeping a child in school begins with a new notebook.
